Course contents :  
The course aims at providing students with an overview of the history of phenomenological philosophy from the 18th century to the present day. Much attention is paid to the relevance of the phenomenological approach to contemporary debates.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Oral lessons based on a manual to be studied by students on their own.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
Monday 10 to 12 am, 1st quadrimester. Location: A2 Building, room 5/16. [Subject to change in the course of the quadrimester.] Course given with the collaboration of Federico Boccaccini.
Recommended or required readings :  
E. Husserl, Ideas pertaining to a Pure Phenomenology and to a Phenomenological Philosophy, transl. F. Kersten, The Hague, Nijhoff, 1983 (Collected Works 2). (Required.) Other required readings in the course of the quadrimester.
Assessment methods and criteria :  
Oral examination in January. Students may be asked to discuss required readings in class. Unsatisfactory performance deducts 2 points from the overall grade in the course.
