Learning outcomes of the course :  
Economie du médicament en milieu ambulatoire

At the end of this course, students should be able to :
  • Describe the organization of Health System in Belgium, its origin and objectives
  • Understand the specificity of the Health Economics
  • Analyse the mechanisms and parameters influencing the growth of spending, including drug expenditure, and ways to contain this growth
  • Decompose the price of drugs, calculate the patient's co-payment
  • Describe methodology of drug use evaluations and pharmacoeconomic studies

To define the missions, duties and responsibilities of a hospital pharmacy and of hospital pharmacists To approach legal, technical, qualitative and evaluative aspects of drug management in a hospital with special emphasis on intensive care and emergency units environment
