Course contents :
 |
| In the "meteorology" section, heat transfer, water vapour through the air-sea interface are discussed.
Meteorological phenomena such as trade winds, monsoons, tropical cyclones and the el nino are studied in more depth.
The "climatology" section is focused more specifically upon marine and coastal climates. |

Learning outcomes of the course :

| At the end of the course, the student will be able to have a pragmatic knowledge of the basic notions of meteorology and climatology applied to the sea. |

Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :

| This course assumes basic university-level knowledge of physics and chemistry.
An elementary knowledge of meteorology. |

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :

| Several introductory lectures are proposed and a scientific report in connection with student's thesis must be written and presented orally with a support PowerPoint |
