Course contents :
After defining the interface between the geological studies relating to the study of mineral deposits, the course will review all the mining methods applicable to the various types of deposit as regards the economic optimisation of their exploitation. The economic effect of the choice of methods and techniques on the economic results will be shown, as well as the close interaction that exists between these two disciplines. This approach is in accordance with the increasingly competitive context in which industrial projects have to be conceived. The course ends with the methodology required by the feasibility studies and concrete examples of the technico-economic assessment of mining projects are provided. The notions developed during class aim to provide geological engineers and mining engineers with a systematic approach to evaluate the importance of a possible discovery or to assess the value of a mining project.
