Course contents :  
1) revision of the analysis of thermodynamic steam and gas cycles
2) gas turbine technology
3) optimisation of combined gas/steam turbine cycles
4) advanced coal power stations: supercritical cycles and power stations using integrated coal gasification in a combined cycle
5) reduction in the emission of pollutants: NOx, SOx, particles, heavy metals;
6) cogeneration;
7) technologies leading to the capture and storage of CO2
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Performance calculation, costs and impacts on the environment of fossil fuel power stations.
