Learning outcomes of the course :
| At the end of the course, the student will know and understand the fundamental laws of irreversible thermodynamics and will be able to use them in elementary applications. |
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :
| Students are assumed to be familiar with Newtonian Mechanics of particles and of systems of particles. |
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
| The theoretical part of the course is presented as lectures (30h). (In case of a small audience, lectures can be replaced by discussions between the sudents and the instructor.) Exercices are also proposed to solve problems (10h). |
