Course contents :
 |
| There will be two main parts: - lectures introducing historical linguistics methods, as well as historical morpheme analysis; - practicals, ("proseminars"), the subject of which changes each year (texts of the 16th or the 17th century). |

Learning outcomes of the course :
 |
| - To be able to use correctly the main notions of historical linguistics, especially of the historical morphology; - to be able to reconstitute morphological evolutions and to analyse grammatical forms - to be able to read and analyse the texts of the "proseminars". |

Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :

| - Main notions of historical phonetic (useful for historical morphology); - History of French language ("proseminars"). |

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
 |
| "Proseminar": students read and analyse texts of the syllabus (by groups). First written work to return around Christmas time. Oral explanation of the work to the other groups. Final written work to give back after the presentation. |
