Course contents :  
Diachronic presentation of the making of the Spanish language (Castilian, the hispanic-american varieties and the other peninsular languages spoken in Spain). Illustration by texts.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
By the end of the course the student will be capable to explain the important stages in the evolution of the Spanish language. He will also be able to explain some issues specific to the language spoken in Spanish America.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Good knowlegde of the Spanish language.

Ex cathedra and presentations by the students.
