Course contents :  
History of the spanish-american literatures from the precolumbian times till now. Course in spanish.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
The student should know the important stages in the history of spanish-american literature and the important authors and titles. He will read numerous extracts of texts (in the porfolio) and also 3 books.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Good knowledge of the Spanish language.

Ex cathedra.

- Modern Languages: Alejo Carpentier, El reino de este mundo.
- Romance Languages: Julio Cortázar, Historias de cronopios y famas.
Assessment methods and criteria :  
May-June: written exam about the course and the readings.
Paper (30%) on a topic of history of the spanish-american literatures. The exact rules will be explained during the first session.
