Course contents :  
The course of Introduction to the Study of Classical Languages and Literatures consists of two parts. The first part includes a presentation of the Alpha-Sciences de l'Antiquité Library, of the "ULg Library" interface, as well as of the main work instruments in the field of Classical Languages and Literatures. Students will also learn how to quote from ancient sources and modern scholarly works. The second part of the course is dedicated to the history of the transmission of Greek and Latin texts and to methods of edition and interpretation.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Teach students to make the best use of resources available to them in libraries and initiate them into the ars citandi. Initiate students into the history, methods and technique of Classical Philology.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Knowledge of Greek and Latin acquired in the first year of the Bachelor's degree.
