The course will be devoted to the improvement of the oral expression skill and reading comprehension skill through authentic articles from the Dutch press. |

Learning outcomes of the course :
 |
| This is the last year of a 6-year programme. The final objective is a fluent written and oral practice of Dutch.
The sixth part focuses on the perfect knowledge of Dutch grammar and vocabulary. This will be practised through debates. |

Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :

| The student should have attended the first five years of the program or have a very good level in Dutch to be able to follow this class. |

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
 |
| Groups of two students will be established at the beginning of the year. They will choose an article (2-3 pages without images) from the Dutch press dated at least July 2014. They will prepare a list of vocabulary (1-2 pages) that they will distribute one week before the presentation of their text to the other students. Each week (1 hour), a group will be responsible for leading a discussion on the article they have chosen. The other students have to prepare the article and to participate actively in the debate. In total, thirty texts will be presented during the year. |

- Articles will be distributed by the students during the year (the first article will be given by the teacher, as an example)

Assessment methods and criteria :
 |
| The choice of articles, the respect of the deadlines, the animation of their own debates and the active participation in the other students' s debates will be marked (2 points).
Written and oral examination at the end of the year.
The written exam (9 points) will include various written exercises on one or more articles submitted during the year;
For the oral examination (9 points), the student should be able to answer any questions about the articles read during the year.
On the thirty papers presented, only fifteen (half of them) will be selected by the teacher for both parts of the exam. It is therefore in the interest of the student to present interesting articles. |
