Course contents :  
During this course a handbook based on a communicative approach as well as articles from the German press will be used. Grammatical structures will be introduced progressively. By the end of the course, students should be able to use the vocabulary of the handbook, as well as other vocabulary seen in class.
During this level 2 course, specific articles taken from the German press will be used for reading comprehension exercises, as well as a starting point for discussions.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
- All four language skills (reading, listening, writing and speaking) are developed.
- Acquisition of general vocabulary
- Acquisition of more advanced grammatical structures through grammar drills and other exercises.
Level A2/B1+
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Good command of the vocabulary and language structures seen in level 1

compulsory paper.

Assessment methods and criteria :  
Written and oral exam (in May/June and August).
- Continuous assessment: A written test and active in-class participation (20% of the final mark).
- Written exam (RC, LC, grammar, vocabulary, writing) : 20 marks - Oral exam: 10 marks
