Course contents :  
In this course, the student will:
1. expand and deepen his knowledge of business German, for the four skills:
  • listening
  • reading
  • speaking
  • writing
2. discover several aspects of business life in Germany.
Main topics:
  • Eine Firma präsentieren (Branche, Produkte, Struktur, Geschichte, Organisation...)
  • professionell telefonieren
  • sich um eine Praktikumsstelle bewerben
  • über Marketingsstrategien sprechen und Verkaufsverhandlungen führen
Learning outcomes of the course :  
ILOs: - ability to speak a foreign language (another language than English) (at the end of Master 2: European level B2) - professional capacity for oral and written communication.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
The student should already know German (European level B1).
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
In the class room:
  • brushing up the grammar rules
  • discovering several chapters of the book (vocabulary, grammar)
  • listening comprehension
  • oral exercises


Home work:
  • grammar and vocabulary exercises (for example on Lol@: online exercises)
  • reading comprehension exercises
  • written exercises


We'll regularly use multimedia engineering.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
24 hours in the class room + exercises at home and on Lol@.

Assessment methods and criteria :  
Individual evaluation.
Written exam (some parts during the semester + exam in June): 70%: - listening comprehension - grammar and vocabulary - reading comprehension - writing an e-mail
Oral exam: 30%
The student who doesn't take all the parts of the exam will become 0/20 as final mark.
