Course contents :  
The course consists in the oral and written exploitation of a video drama on the topic of an alliance between airline companies with radically opposed cultures and philosophies. Each class is devoted to comprehension and assimilation (structures, specialized vocabulary, idiomatic uses) through a variety of exercises including translations and role-plays.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
the language used in socializing and at work, namely in oral presentations, meetings and negotiations.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
the curriculum of the preparatory course for the master's in management (revision of the bases of grammar, pronunciation, spelling and economic vocabulary).
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
comments and explanations given in English, oral work in pairs and small groups.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
30 hours taught in class

photocopiable course reader:Market Leader Video Resource Book: "Alliance", by Richard Crowe and Pamela Pickford, Longman 2000.
Assessment methods and criteria :  
a written and an oral examination accounting each for half of the final mark obtained.
