Learning outcomes of the course :
|
| Knowledge and understanding of a city do not force the evidence, including cities extended for successive historical strata marked.
A first phase of observation to identify the differences: patterns that add, overlap, interrupt and reappear, built that renews and extends the option of a slow densification outgrowth, elevation, cutting and filling.
The urbanization of the modern period marks the landscape even more radically by the volume of construction, method of implementation and the techniques used.
To go further, we need to develop a knowledge investigative approach combines history, geography, cartographic work, architectural analysis, observation and the constructive lifestyles.
The course accepts this reflection of urban analysis to the case of Brussels, including highlighting various possible readings of the city. |
