Course contents :  
Study in-depth of selected moments of the history of Wallonia and of the Walloon movement(s).
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Students' attention will be drawn to history and historiography of Wallonia and to the main questions for the historians (relations between history and policy making, history and identity, history and political activism...)
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
To have previously followed the general course on Belgian history (HIST0029-1) will be an asset.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
The course will be mainly devoted to the commented analysis of documents (pamphlets, newspaper articles, parliamentary speeches...).

Suggested reading:
Histoire de la Wallonie, sous la direction de Bruno Demoulin et Jean-Louis Kupper, Toulouse, Privat, 2004 (chapters about contemporary history).
Texts will be available in printed form and on line (MyULg).

Oral examination.

ULg is a French-speaking University situated in a French-speaking area. The courses will thus be delivered in French, as well as the notes and the examinations. Foreign students are expected to master the language first.
