  • Tooth development
  • Dentinogenesis and structure of the complex dentine-dental pulp
  • Amelogenesis and structure of the enamel
  • Development and structure of the periodontum
  • Physiological movements of the tooth
  • Oral mucosa and salivary glands
Learning outcomes of the course :  
The objectives of this lectures are to describe the tissues of the tooth and of the oral cavity and to explain their morphological and functional relationships. The description of tooth development during embryogenesis and childhood and of tooth evolution with aging will permit to better understand the relations between morphology and function.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
  • During practical lessons students observe microscopic slides of developing and adult teeth; they take place in the rooms of practical lessons CHU B23
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
Lessons given during the S2 for the 2d year of bachelor in dental science.
Theoretic lessons: 4 X 1h15
Practical lessons: 2 X 2h30
