| View on the arts of the hunter-gatherers around the world. Their general structures will be presented. These arts correspond to mythological functions; they are dominated by the natural world, incarnated by wild animals. The structure of their agencies ("semiotic") reveals their organisation, in response to rigourous and stable rules in which aesthetics intervenes as much as recounting of myths. |
Learning outcomes of the course :
| The course consists of a panoramic presentation of these different expressions, then propose a series of methodological approaches permitting to interpret them in coherent and logical terms. Nothing, in fact, is random in Palaeolithic art, where style, schools and phases can be distinguished. |
