Course contents :  
The course aims to trace the major stages in the evolution of visual arts (architecture, painting and sculpture) in the West, the Middle Ages to the present day (early Middle Ages, Romanesque, Gothic, Quattrocento, sixteenth, seventeenth, eighteenth, nineteenth and twentieth centuries). Emphasis is placed on the relationship between artistic creation and historical context. Particular attention is paid to producing countries and regions germaniques. The presentations are illustrated with slides.
