Course contents :

| The lecture is centered on morphological effects of earthquakes and on the surface of volcanoes.
It covers various aspects of neotectonics, seismo-tectonics, seismology, tectonic geomorphology as well as the physics and geomorphology related to volcanic activity. |

Learning outcomes of the course :

| The goal is to understand the geological origin of earthquake and volcano hazards. |

Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :

| Good knowledge of English and maths. |

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
 |
| Analyses on maps, aerial and satellite imagery; microseismic measurements and data processing.
2 visits in the Roermond Valley Graben |

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :

5 sessions of 3h of exercices and data processing.
2 days of fieldwork in the Rhine Graben |
