Course contents :  
The lecture of geological mapping provides an introduction to the history of geological mapping in Belgium as well as an overview of basics in geological mapping.

Numerous exercises of mapping and drawing of geological profiles are carried out to improve the understanding of the spatial relationship between geological layers.

The fieldwork will focus on the making of a geological profile across formations and structures in the Condroz, on detailed layer mapping as well as on structural geology.

Introduction to geological mapping, learning of numerous mapping techniques and working in the field.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Indoor practical work on maps and fieldtrips.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
6-7 lectures (4 h each) are given in the classroom. 2-3 days are spent in the field - transport is by car.
