Course contents :  
The course is devoted to the location of the economic activities, as well of the secondary sector as of the tertiary sector. It approaches successively: the measure of spatial distributions, recent trends in location changes, various methods of analysis as well as the operational methods of location choices.
Concerning the field of services, the course deals more particularly with retailing, public services, tourism and services to firms. Combining theory and practices, the course seeks to deal with the location issue at different spatial levels (geopolitical entity, country, region, locality and site).
Learning outcomes of the course :  
To allow to future graduates in planning to take into account the spatial dimensions of economic problems and, more particularly, to allow them to analyse and solve location problems related to industries and services.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
A good knowledge of the current economic, political and social context is very useful as the course relies on concrete examples from the economic life.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Fieldwork
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
- 10 sessions (3 hours) of theoretical lectures (5 on industry and 5 on services).

Oral exam based on the slide presentations (DOC mentioned in the slide to be considered).
