Course contents :

| The theoretical course is divided in two parts. The first part (9h) is related to the Geography of Energy. This part of the course is related with the production, but also with market mechanisms as well as with environmental issues. The second part is dealing with the Geography of Transport Systems (6h): network implementation, supply and demand, key-players and impacts. |

Learning outcomes of the course :

| The objective of the course is to give an introduction to the issue of economic geography, in relation with two key-areas : Geography of Energy and Geography of Transport Systems. |

- Course of Bac 1 : "Introduction à la géographie économique et sociale"

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :

- 5 sessions (3 hours) of theoretical lectures
- 3 sessions of workshops (3 h) on two basic learning processes (the design of diagrams and the design of organization charts) completed by an exercise in analysis of statistical data on energy.
- 2,5 days of fieldwork : 1 day for the visit of 2 electric power plant and 1 day for the visit of the Antwerp harbour.

Assessment methods and criteria :

- Oral exam (with a 20 minutes written preparation) = 85 % of the quotation.
- Three exercises achieved during practical work = 15 % of the quotation.
