Course contents :

- Brief introduction to static forces (graphical approach), resistance and behaviour of materials.
- Presentation of the functioning of standard structural elements.
- Systemic analysis of the building and its structural system, regarding constraints imposed on the project (functionality, symbolic, aesthetic, etc.).
- Analysis of cases.

Learning outcomes of the course :
|
|
- Thanks to an approach as direct and intuitive as possible, students get the tools so as to understand and grasp the impact of the structural system on the architecture of a building.
- The students acquire further technical and scientific device ton confirm the intuitive approach.
At the end of this course, the students will be able to design future projects taking into account the structural requirements as early as possible in the design process. |

| Short exercises done in class, in groups or individually.
Analytical work of an existing building and composition work on various topics related to the building or theoretical views we had in class. |

Slideshow during ex cathedra class, along with some documentation if necessary. |

| Evaluation of work done during the practice sessions.
