Course contents :  
Principles of sustainable development. Waste management: historical market, life cycles, waste management policies, concepts of law (regional, national and European), general rules on the valuation, the economics Valorisation of industrial by-products: blast furnace slag, steel slag, fly ash, coal shale waste, quarrying mining waste, gypsum waste, rubber, asphalt pavements, construction waste and demolition Recovery of household waste: slag from municipal waste incinerators, paper and cardboard, glass, plastics
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Provide the knowledge to be able to select recycled material as building material in accordance with its ability, properties and regulations.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Knowledge of materials (GCIV 0184 equivalence)

- Oral lectures - Bibliography research projects - Factory visit
