Course contents :

| Tropical forests are home to many species whose identification is often difficult.
The objective of this course is to identify botanic families through vegetative characteristics. This knowledge should allow forest engineers to identify species using determination keys and reference books.
1. Identification criteria and remarkable characteristics

3. Systematic (about 50 families)
4. Collection, conservation and handling of tropical vegetal samples. |

| After completing the course the student is expected to :
·Be able to identify botanic families through vegetative characteristics.
·Be able to describe vegetal samples with adequate terms.
·Be able to identify species by using determination keys and reference books.
·Be able to collect, conserve and prepare vegetation samples. |

| This course is based on lectures illustrated with many photos, herbarium observations and tropical greenhouses visits. |
