Course contents :  
Definitions: Objectives and roles of insects in conservation and management of biodiversity Biological aspects: Taxonomical diversity and insect biogeography, parasitology related to conservation Insect monitoring approaches and biodiversity quantification
Social aspects: Socio-economical values of insects (pollination, entomophagy, entomophagous beneficials)
Environmental aspects: Use of bio-indicator insects in relation to biodiversity, management of entomological fauna, focusing on invasive - exotic, rare and extinction species, impacts of climate changes and city development.
Management of entomological diversity and abundance - environmental management
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Understand and better know the challenges in Entomology (Insect Science) in the conservation and management of biodiversity and in the management of natural resources in relation to the socio-economical pressures
