Course contents :  
The course aims to illustrate the place of the research in sport and physical activities. It is the starting point of the preparation of the students to research and try to be exhaustive. It proposes them to discover most of the research domains of sport sciences.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
- To prepare students to research project (master thesis). - This course is also a prerequisite to another proposed during the next year ("Introduction to an analysis of intervention in physical and sports activities").

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Ex-cathedra teaching and exercise proposed in the classroom.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
10 sessions illustrating the different steps of a research.
Students have to do several works in relationship to the content of the theoretical courses (search of papers on specific topic focused on sport science, preparation of an abstract,...)
Recommended or required readings :  
A pdf version of the slides and documents proposed during the theoretical lessons is posted on the Website MyULg. In addition, the students will have to seek other information, according to recommendations' of the course's leader and/or his assistants.
Assessment methods and criteria :  
Open ended questions about the content proposed during the course and assessment of the works done within the exercises.
