Course contents :  
The private comparative law lectures will change subject from year to year. Il will study a legal institution in several legal systems, usually starting with the roman law. It may as well be that the subject is of pure roman law. For 2014-2015, the subject will be: "Mora debitoris".
This course will not be organised in 2015-2016.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
This course aims to help the students to become more familiar with foreign legal systems and to put Belgian law in perspective, in order to help them to become aware of the subjective choices made by the Belgian legal system, of the evolution of the legal science in Europe and in the World.

Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
Lectures will take place during the first semester.Students must be present at the lectures. The students will be asked to prepare a personal presentation on the main topic.
Recommended or required readings :  
The use of a handbook will depend on the chosen subject every year.
Assessment methods and criteria :  
The procedure of the oral exam will be explained during the lectures.
