Course contents :
 |
| Cosmetics cover a very vast domain: they are intended either to maintain, to protect or to clean the cutaneous surfaces, or to make up or to remove make-up from the face. Their composition is consequently extremely varied, what returns the interpretation of the formula very complex . The nature of these constituents conditions the properties and the quality of these products. |

Learning outcomes of the course :

| To learn the theoretical bases from the formulation and to initiate by work practise with the knowledge of the auxiliary substances, the procedures, the equipment and controls to be carried out on the finished product. |

| Elementary notions of chemistry, biology, physics |

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
 |
| The practical works concern first of all, "simple" liquid preparations (solutions, emulsions, suspensions) and semi-solids preparations (ointments, creams, gels). The second part concerns the preparation of complex cosmetic formulations. |
