Course contents :

| This course is part of the Advanced EMSHIP Master's Degree in Naval Architecture (Ship Design). It prepares students to master the basic notions relating to the behaviour of floating and naval structures, and to analyse flows around underwater hulls. The course is mainly composed of lectures with examples and case studies. Students are initiated in the techniques of numerical models relating to naval hydrodynamics, manoeuvrability and the behaviour of floating structures at sea. |

| There are specific prerequisites: students must have a diploma in civil Engg, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, aerospace engineering or similar. For other graduates, their application will be validated by the ULG admission board |

| The course is very specific and has its own detailed notes: it isn't necessary to read specific works. For any students who wish to improve their knowledge, there is a library collection in the field of naval architecture, which is regularly updated mainly thanks to the departments own funds. |

| Oral exam: it is composed of questions relating to the elements taught in class. |
