Course contents :  
This course is an introduction to the electrical and magnetic properties of solid materials. The relationships between the macroscopic properties and the atomic structure are described without resorting to complex mathematical developments. Examples are chosen in metals, ceramics, glasses and polymers.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
The objective of the course is to provide the students with the basic knowledge necessary to get access to more advanced textbooks or literature related to material properties.

theoretical course illustrated by many exercices involving schemes/figures/tables from literature

A copy of the slides and exercices will be given at the first lecture.
