Course contents :  
The course is splitted into three parts:

1° Atom, electronic structure and molecular bondings.

2° The chemistry in water solution (acido-basic reactions, redox reactions) and their appliances in real life and in the industry .

3° Introduction to Carbon chemistry including reactivity of compounds with some real examples.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
The general objective of the course is to get the students familiar with the scientific background in life sciences chemistry, allowing a correct understanding of general documents including scientific reports, general scientific press papers, business plans...
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Basic notions of general chemistry and physics.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
2nd semester : 3h1/2 theory and 2h exercices by week.
