Course contents :  
The course is organised as a workshop.
It is the logical continuation of course CHIM0040, available the previous year.
Introductory lectures on economical evaluation of projets are provided.
Each group of students, supervised by a tutor, has to complete a design project involving :
- detailed process evaluation
- energy interation and selection of utilities
- preliminary design of all main equipments
- evaluation of investments
- profitability analysis of the project

Projects change each year. Computer aided process design tools are available on the department intranet.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Improve process design skills by using sofware for process evaluation, equipment sizing and design, optimisation.
Gain practical skills and knowledge in economic evaluation of projects.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Course CHIM0040 in the previous year.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
The course is organised as a workshop.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
The workshops usually start in september. Student must organise the team work and share the tasks. They have unlimited access to the department computer ressources and software tools. The tutor is available for advice at least 4 hr/week. Progress review meetings are organised every 2 weeks. Final report is due by the end of January.

Assessment methods and criteria :  
Evaluation is based on the report submitted by the team.
Results must be presented by the students. The exam consists in an individual discussion with the tutor and the teacher about the work.
