Course contents :  
-analysis of the amino acid composition of proteins -hydrophobicity analysis -data banks -homology search -sequence alignments -detection of functional motifs -prediction of secondary structures -prediction of three-dimensional structures
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Overview of the various methods for the analysis of protein sequences and practical applications. After completing the course the student should be able to choose the proper methods of genomic/proteic analysis.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Organic chemistry, chemical structure of amino-acids, primary and secondary structures of proteins.

learning session for the use of free access softwares for prediction of protein structure
