Course contents :  
- The plant cell wall: "chemical" composition - Extraction of biopolymers: key issues in the selection of a process, impact of the extraction process on the structure and properties - Cellulose: ultrastructure of wood fiber, importance in various industrial applications, molecular structure / crystal structure / macrostructurel, physico-chemical properties - Hemicelluloses: xylans, mannans, xyloglucans, beta-glucans, arabinogalactans - Pectic compounds: source, structure, applications - Starch: molecular structure and applications - Lignin and polyphenols
Learning outcomes of the course :  
To point out molecular structure-function relationships for natural polymer (partim) After completing the course the student is expected to be able to give back the knowledge in the teached topics, to analyse the ultrastucture of the studied compounds, to acquire laboratical pratical experience in the domain of biomolecules analyses.
