The course offers the students a look at the world of today and the context in which the discipline of architecture is evolving through the world of cinema and offers different perspectives on the perception of architecture and representations of real public and private spaces, but also virtual and deformed or imagined spaces. The object is to stimulate the curiosity of the students in disciplines related to architecture.
The cinema calls the town into question, places it in the spotlight, magnifies it and explores it better in order to better transcend it. As a witness of the transformation of the town, the cinema enables the spectator to take a new look at and to question his or her urban environment.
Cinema uses architecture but also shapes our view. Architecture suggests places, spaces and atmosphere to the cinema. The history of cinema is also the history of modernity in all its aspects.
