Course contents :  
General information about thermal comfort. Energy balance of a building: coefficient of thermal transmission through walls, ventilation thermal losses, solar and internal gains, efficiency of the heating and domestic hot water systems.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
To familiarize the student with the energy balance of a building
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :

Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
With an actual building as support of the exercise: calculation of the thermal transmission coefficient of the walls (U-value), of the hygienic ventilation needs, evaluation of the primary energy consuption and of the energy performance regulation criteria .
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
Successive sessions of theoretical course, then of exercise (1 h 30' to 2 h each)
Recommended or required readings :  
Copy of the slides shown during the theoretical course.
Practical guides for architects written by the professor, for the Walloon Region.
Assessment methods and criteria :  
Oral + exercise in writing

The practical exercises are evaluated and intervene in the final cotation.
