Course contents :  
In continuity with Social and Cultural Anthropology I, this course concentrates on the theories that have become influential in anthropology since 1960. These theories will be illustrated by concrete case studies taken from various ethnographic contexts.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
To introduce students to theories of culture in anthropology. At the end of the course, students will be able to discuss the light that each theory can shed upon the central issues of our time.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Students must have completed the course of Social and Cultural Anthropology I, appreciate theory, enjoy reading, and have a high degree of curiosity.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
The course consists in face-to-face lessons.
Recommended or required readings :  
A copy of PowerPoint presentations used during lessons will be posted on the MyUlg portal. Students will also receive readings.
Assessment methods and criteria :  
Arrangements for the examination will be announced based on the number of students. Grading will depend on the course and the readings.
