Course contents :  
This clinic is organized consultations on the ground where the first line, at the individual and herd level. It is full of self-learning practical activities.
Consultations on the ground is provided by the department (Ambul-ULG) and a practitioner (Ambul-VT), research assistant in the department. These consultations should allow students to be confronted with cases of first line in the context of an activity of rural practitioner. They must also allow them to achieve the propaedeutic gestures and additional tests, or more specific in bovine medicine, at the individual level, as the herd level. These consultations are accompanied by the examination of animals and making propaedeutic, diagnostic and therapeutic procédures.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
The theoretical and clinical activities in the context of the teachings of the bovine and porcine medicine overall objective to help develop your discipline, organizational skills, interpersonal, communication, reflective and personally.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Active and effective participation in these clinics you require a synthetic knowledge courses semiology and pathology of ruminants given in the first and second GMV. It will complement general information on other courses in the context of ruminants in the first and second cycle. Whereas the real importance of these prerequisites for the success of clinical training and success, but required a formative evaluation is organized on ecampus and must be completed before the first week of clinic for ruminants. It covers general data on ruminants taught in bachelor and master; Clinical book constitutes a good summary (about medicine herds).
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
The clinic is held on the site of the B42 ( outpatient room ) and farms. Monday: 8:30 : assessment of knowledge of the clinical presentation and activities, scheduling of visits . Monday: 9:00 to 12:00 (or more ): Activity self-learning ( online seminar on ecampus " Additional tests used in farm ruminants "). Reading this seminar can be done in the outpatient room ( 2 PC available) , or any other computer room of the faculty. It should be covered completely by 11:59 p.m. on Monday . In addition, it is advisable to review the seminar online ecampus " Individual approach and herd in the prevention of lameness in cattle - Trimming function " since the week of outpatient clinic , you will be asked to perform the trimming paws on live animals. An assessment of your knowledge in these areas will be carried out in the clinic. If the supervisor shows a clear lack of knowledge, the student will be excluded visits (and therefore , noted "absent" ) . Monday : 13h00 -17h00: 3 students will be "on call" in the outpatient room in case of visits ambul be requested or scheduled herd visits . They will benefit from two PCs connected to internet to prepare multi- media seminars. Other students prepare their seminars. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday : 3 (4 ) students Ambul -ULg ( 8h30-. ) and two students Ambul -VT ( 08h00-. ) . Students who do not have a place in Ambul will participate in activities in such cases by the Department (eg ARC or seminars) or participate in VEB if places are available. The rest of the time , students do not therefore have the choice of : preparing their report for Friday, read the course material , further multi- media seminars. Friday: 8:30 am - 12 : personal work on case presentations . Friday: 8:30 am - 12 : But of outpatient visits are potentially possible ( back to 13.00) and therefore potentially 1-3 students will be assigned to attend. Friday : 13:00 ( or 2:00 p.m. according to clinical activity ) debriefing and evaluation of the week . Each student will present a clinical case or individual herd orally 10-20 minutes maximum on the principle of evidence-based medicine . It will be interspersed with questions. The presentation will be based on a specific template ( Appendices 1, 2, 3). For reasons beyond our control, the order of the visits may vary from week to week and may not correspond to what is above or cancellations are possible (we also depend on external scientific collaborators ) . However, we will try to organize an event instead when cancellation , but can not guarantee it !
- It should be noted that all clinical (animal identity, client, veterinarian) which students have access are strictly confidential and can not in any way departing from the scope of the ULg-FMV-Clinic Department of Animal Production. It is the same for pictures taken during clinical (always ask permission BEFORE using a photo). Any student posting images / videos / information pertaining to the clinical activities FMV (intra or extramural) on social networks and other networks will be severely punished! - Any pregnant student must absolutely prevent the head of the clinic earlier (Monday 8:30) as zoonotic risks associated with participation in this clinic.

Access to the platform is ecampus conditional registration as a student at the University of Liège and the validation of the year of your studies.
Assessment methods and criteria :  
The summative evaluation The evaluation of knowledge and know -how During the week, your knowledge and skills will be assessed by supervisors , through questions or acts requested operation . During the debriefing, a case presentation will be requested according to the format downloaded from ecampus and / or MyULg (VETE0474 -1, Appendices 1, 2, 3). This document will be made ( email @ ulg.ac.be hugues.guyot assistant and ambulatory clinic ) to Friday 12:00 at the latest. Any delay will be punished. Knowledge students will be evaluated during this debriefing based on the presentation of the case and the questions either framing . The evaluation will be on a scale of 0-5 ( 0,1,2,3,4,5 ) . The assessment of life skills The student will have at heart to take a correct attitude, polished , motivated and proactive in dealing with teachers , assistants, staff and farmers (including not smoking , eating, call during visits in the truck , be interactive , be polite , respect the material, breeders and veterinarians , do not take photos without permission , etc. ) . Knowledge will be assessed on a scale of 0-5 ( 0,1,2,3,4,5 ) 0 if delay , no material or unauthorized absence or apparent absence of interest. A rating of " 0 " will also be awarded if multi -media seminar was not read to 11:59 p.m. Monday . We emphasize that failure be reported BEFORE the start of the clinic. A justification must be sent as soon as possible to the student secretariat and the secretariat of ruminants pole ( marie.Delacroix @ ulg.ac.be or Tel: 04 366 40 20). A catch-up clinic is only possible if the absence was announced BEFORE and confirmed by appropriate documentation after (medical certificate, ticket, other legal certificates.) If more than two unjustified absences were found , the student will not be allowed to submit the examination certification 1st AND 2nd session) . The score for the week of clinic outpatient clinic will take place for 50 % of the final grade Outpatient Clinic . In total, on "clinical" 10 points, 5 points will be awarded to Know Being and five other points during the briefing AND debriefing ( Knowledge and Know-how ) .

The clinic starts on Monday at 8:30 . Students must be present in the premises of ruminants , pigs services ( B42 ) (entrance from the corridor to the left of the entrance of services). Students will first be evaluated on their knowledge, according to which they will be enrolled in the various activities of the clinic (benefit students know their material) . A number of students is expected by tour / activity . All students must go on tour and all seats must be met. Any activity in which the student is enrolled must be worked. In case of late arrival or absence of necessary equipment, the student will be considered absent non- justified. In case of unauthorized absence , a "0" will be assigned as clinical notes for the week. The materials required : overalls (allow possibly several ) and CLEAN boots, stethoscope, digital thermometer, pen / paper, hammer and plate , clinical book. In addition: - Ambulatory -VT : Students make their own way to the vet 's office at 8:00 Theux on site ( see Appendix 4) , with their equipment. The day ends in theory to 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. (depending on veterinary visits ) . If the veterinarian and the student agree, the day may end beyond 19:00. Students must arrive on time . In case of absence or late (illness, accidents, congestion ) , the student MUST immediately call the veterinary practitioner and explain the situation . Schedules veterinarians may be random , it is sometimes possible that the veterinary practitioner is not the time to go because of emergency visits. 30 minutes).">To the extent possible he will contact you (if assumed delay > 30 minutes). VT will alert you immediately of any change of organization (eg , no appointment) . Also provide a picnic for lunch and warm clothes in winter. - Ambulatory -ULg : Selected students will accompany the assistant the day ( starting 8:30 ) Tuesday , Wednesday and Thursday ( return time unspecified ) , with their equipment. A clinical record is to be completed by each student for outpatient cases seen (see Appendix 5). It must be completed correctly and completely . It will be monitored and recorded. - Multi - Media Seminar: complete reading of this seminar is mandatory. It will be controlled on ecampus the seminar was made ¿¿and the play time will also be controlled . If the seminar has not been read, the student will be considered a "no non- justified " and a " 0 " will be assigned as clinical notes for the week. - Case -log : a personal case- log (excel file, see Appendix 6) poring ALL cases seen during the week ( with ambul - ulg and ambul - vt) You will be asked for 12h Friday. The excel file will be emailed to Hugues Guyot ( hugues.guyot @ ulg.ac.be ) and Pierre Dubreucq ( Pierre.Dubreucq @ ulg.ac.be ) . In addition, you will be asked to encode if you have seen Ambulatory -ULg in the SAP system . You will likely be interviewed on Friday afternoon ( debriefing ) on any case that you've seen this week ( ambul -ULg or ambul -VT ) . - Trimming: if during your week outpatient clinic you're led to understand with a herd lameness and around, you will be asked to complete the trimming sheet ( see Appendix 7) and return it to the vet with whom you have done trimming, as well as Hugues Guyot ( by email).
