Evolution and livestock systems 7. Usefulness of stockbreeding activities 8. Environnmental impacts of livestock activities 9. Animal welfare 10. Surroundings of farm animals 11. Basis of dairy milk production 12. Basis of bovine meat production 13. Main cattle, pig and horse breeds 14. Animal breeding structures 15. Basic principles of genetic improvement of livestock
Learning outcomes of the course :  
To give a general survey of animal productions in the world and the basis of animal husbandry
After completing the course the student is expected to
- understand different aspects linked to modern farm animal productions around the world;
- undertake to do a bibliographic study on a special topic in relation with farm animal breeding.

The slides will be made available at the beginning of the classes. However the slides will be adapted and improved during the teaching period.
