 | The Master's course in digestive PATHOLOGY aims at introducing students to various clinical aspects with adults and children: surgery, anatomo-pathology, radiology, pharmacology, and radiotherapy.
We thus consider pathologies of the following organs: oesophagus, stomach, liver and hepatic ducts, pancreas, small intestine, colorectum, and anus.
The aim of the course is to introduce students to essential medical and surgical steps in the diagnostic and therapeutic approaches to digestive pathologies. |

 | Learning objectives are specified within each major sections. Notions of anatomy, pathological anatomy and physiology are recalled whenever it proves necessary. Each chapter begins with a table of notions that have to be known on the discussed pathologies. Some paragraphes (with a heading that says "Pour les plus curieux") provide further information particularly for those students who think of specialising in Digestive Pathology (whether medical or surgical). |

 | In the field of teaching, integration of information technics and communication has become mandatory. It allows a great diversity of teaching practices and of increasing quality of your learning skills.
In order to implement these technics into the course of gynaecology, an online platform (eCampus) is now devoted to your acquisition and testing of your knowledge. It supplements the course delivered in the amphitheatre and those 2 approaches are not separable. |

 | The lectures take place during the first semester at the auditoires in the CHU. The schedules (lecture, CR sessions, practical exercises, hospital practice) will be available on the Faculté de Médecine website and on the Décanat's noticeboard.
The latest reform injects more interactivity and participation in the learning process. Therefore the clinical lectures have partly been replaced by clinical reasoning sessions. Clinical teaching is is made of clinical lectures for a half and clinical reasoning session for the other half.
During those sessions, groups of 8 to 10 students work with a supervisor on a clinical case. One of the students plays the role of the patient, while the others act successively as the physician. One of the students is charged with taking the notes from the interactive session.. The objective is to learn how to establish a diagnostic: the student playing the role of the patient provides the basic information at the beginning of the session and the other students build the diagnostic while interacting with him. |

 | An auto-evaluation taking place prior to the start of the course and devided in 3 parts (Histology Pr P Quatresooz, Physiology Pr M Nisolle, Anatomy Pr P Bonnet) is accessible. Its content is necessary for the good comprehension of the course in Master 2. A PDF reference document is at your disposal and has been established in cooperation with the professors in each of 3 disciplines. This auto-evaluation is not mandatory but is warmly recommended. Its content will not be reviewed during the face-to-face course. |

 | We have concentrated on 6 theoretical modules allowing an integration of the knowledge and of the theory that have been delivered during the face-to-face course.
Regarding the clinical stages as such, 2 half-days of supervised outpatient clinic will be accessible to you with a primary objective to get exposed to the main gynaecological symptoms and develop capacities to explore them efficiently. |
