Course contents :  
Introduction to the life and work of the poet Anton van Wilderode (1918-1998) within the context of the ideological and political tensions in postwar Flemish society. Reading of several of his texts from this point of view.
Learning outcomes of the course :  
Improving the skills of students at analysing modern literary texts in Dutch and at establishing links between these texts and their contemporary ideological and political context.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
Good command of spoken and written Dutch.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
Introductory lectures, followed by collective discussions of texts by Van Wilderode.
