Duration :  20h Th, 20h Pr
Number of credits :
Bachelor in Engineering: Architecture, 3rd year2
Lecturer :  Eric Béchet
Language(s) of instruction :
French language
Organisation and examination :
Teaching in the second semester
Course contents :
Priciples of computer generated images
Gamma correction, aliasing and anti-aliasing strategies
Colorimetry, perspective projection
Curves and surfaces modeling
Light properties of surfaces and models
Ray tracing algorithms
Radiosity computations and accurate rendering of scenes
Learning outcomes of the course :
The course is aimed at giving students a theoretical and practical knowlege of tools used in computer graphics. The ray tracing approach is studied. The techniques pertaining to this approach are developped, such as light interaction with surfaces and the geometrical description of these surfaces. A practical training completes the theoretical lectures, along with a small project.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :
Practical exercices on a ray tracing software (blender)
1 exercice on a CAD system
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :
2nd semester, face-to-face + project
Recommended or required readings :
Assessment methods and criteria :
