Course contents :

| -Presentation of the historical character of the concept of nature
- Ancient and mediaeval conception of nature linked to contemplative science and handcrafted technique
-Modern conception of nature linked to experimental science and technology
-Romantic criticism of the modern conception of nature: appearence of a pantheistic conception of nature
-Sketch of a contemporary conception of nature as a synthesis of objectivity and subjectivity, as an integration of the observer to the experience itself of nature
-Observation of the impact of these conceptions on the landscape itself |

| - To present and analyse the historical character of the concept of nature
- To show how scientific research and the practical actions of men are part of a conception of the world and of nature
- To question some naive evidence in our current understanding of what nature is |
