Course contents :  
1st part : elements of mineralogy

This course concerns the basics of Mineralogy, for students in BAC3 Geology Engineer and in Master1 Geography. The main chaptes are:
1. Geometric crystallography.
2. Optical crystallography.
3. Crystal chemistry.
4. Macroscopic identification of minerals.

2nd part : Elements of Magmatic and metamorphic petrology

An introduction to magmatic and metamorphic petrology

General overview of the main types of magmatic and metamorphic rocks and their conditions of formation

Numerous hours of practical identification of minerals under the microscope. The macroscopic identification of minerals is not included in the hours mentioned in the programm of this course (personal supplementary training).

4 lectures of 2H and 4 labs
