Course contents :  
Methods for reconstructing palaeogeographies. Oceanic and marine dynamics and sea-level variations during the ancient times. Palaeoclimatic and palaeogeographic evolution. Major crises (late Ordovician, late Devonian, P/T and K/T boundaries, Messinian event, end of the last glaciation,...).
Learning outcomes of the course :  
General knowledge of the contingent evolution of the biosphere and palaeogeography. Integration and discussion on datas from earth sciences for evolution and events reconstruction.
Prerequisites and co-requisites/ Recommended optional programme components :  
geology and palaeontology courses.
Planned learning activities and teaching methods :  
The two field days are devoted to the study of the geological record of palaeoclimatic and eustatic fluctuations and the tectonical influence in sedimentary series.
Mode of delivery (face-to-face ; distance-learning) :  
Theory (20h): Tuesday from 8.30 to 10.30 am. Building B18. First period.
2 field days to date.
