Course contents :

| This course will tackle some of the fundamentals of transport. The following topics will be covered:
- Introduction (Motivation why transportation engineering is important, three market model, etc)
- Decision making
- Geography/Networks
- Modelling/forecasting
- Evaluation (large focus on cost-benefit analysis (CBA) and multiple criteria analysis (MCA))
- Transit (e.g. network design)
- Multi-modal transport and networks
- Adoption of new transport modes

Learning outcomes of the course :

| The student must have an understanding of basic transportation concepts and of how these concepts are relevant for mechanical engineers. |
