Course contents :

| Catalyst definition, types of heterogeneous catalysts. Physical and chemical steps in heterogeneous catalysis (diffusion, adsorption, reaction, desorption). Conversion ratio, activity, selectivity, turnover number. Comparison between homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis. Identification and counting of catalytic sites. Coupling between reaction and diffusion in porous catalysts (mass and heat transfers, efficiency factor, diffusional limitations). Deactivation. Industrial applications. |
