Learning outcomes of the course :  
After this teaching, the student will be able to:
  • Develop an integrated approach of biodiversity and conservation challenges, using a correct vocabulary
  • Explain threats on biodiversity and their interactions
  • Explain the importance of biodiversity management and the different strategies, as well as the role of bioingeneers
  • Realize the importance of scientific literature in ecology and biodiversity management

All lectures, diaporamas and seminars constitute the matter on which the student can be interrogated. The articles presented during the courses can be the base for a question at the examination. It is recommended that the student takes notes during the courses.
Diaporamas presented during lectures are made available through the BlackBoard platform, as wall as complementary documentation.

Oral examination (100%) The examination is oral, with written preparation.

Organizational remarks :  
Seminars will take place according to opportunities (presence of foreign or Belgian specialists, conferences, etc.) and shedule constraints. Therefore, seminars can take place at a different time than a priori presented in the schedule. Information about seminars organization will be given during lectures. It is the responsability of the student to be sure he/she had access to this information.
The schedule of lectures can also, exceptionnally, be changed. In this case the information would be given orally at a previous lecture. It is the responsability of the student to be sure he/she had access to this information.
